sick & sick in the head

Even though John and I have been complaining about being swamped and having no time to work, sometimes you have to create something totally for the sake of screwing around to stay sane.

Remember that part in the movie, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, where he uses his synthesizer to play a song made out of cough sounds? Well, here you go, John King’s version set to my sick little guy snuggling with our quirky pugs. (Warning, by the end you’ll feel like your own throat is closing shut and I bet you can’t help belting out a couple coughs yourself.)

So once I threw this slideshow together I called to John in his studio, “Hey John, can you make a 30 second song out of a bunch of cough sounds for me?” Instead of telling me how insanely busy he was and there was just no way he could do it, he proceeded to whip out a cough song. Gotta love a guy who is willing to drop what he was in the middle of writing to do something so “important” for me.

Ok, I do have a real blog post, a senior session, coming up soon, so keep your eyes open for that. Thanks for humoring us! Oh, and if you follow my twitter you’ll know I was up until FOUR AM last night/this morning with a sick Miles who, bless his soul, was so sick he just wanted to walk around the house saying, “NO! NO! NO! NO!” It was awful. I so knew how he felt though. That first phase of killer sore throat and runny nose totally DOES make you want to just walk around exclaiming, “NO!” Some popsicles, PBS Kids, lots of stories and surprisingly blueberry pancakes and a banana at 3:30 AM finally helped him sleep and we both got a few winks in. Tonight is going MUCH better. Thank goodness! Tomorrow I’m shooting another awesome senior and I think it’s my first time leaving the house in days. It’s going to feel GREAT to get out shoot. Woo hoo!

I love it! Well, not the fact that you are sick but the creativity that you put into it 🙂 John is awesome for doing that!
