the perfect un-new year’s party

Gone are the days of the New Year’s Eve Party in somebody’s basement. Gone are the days of the black tie New Year’s Eve party that cost $200 just to get in the door. Gone are the days of squeezing into a bar to stand shoulder to shoulder on New Year’s Eve.

These are the days of playing with the kiddo, putting him to bed, sitting down to a nice comfy meal with dear, dear friends, followed by long talks till we all kiss our hubbies at midnight and call it a night. Call me an old fogie, but I LOVE THESE DAYS. 🙂

Nye

I’m feeling very thankful that I had friends (friends who aren’t in the kid world yet and don’t have to deal with the impossibility of finding a NYE babysitter) who wanted to come and chill at our place instead of some other fabulous party. It was the perfect way to start the new year. (I just wish I had taken more photos of our wonderful friends. Oh well, you can tell I was busy enjoying myself.)

Happy New Year everybody!

I am one of those non kid friends who went to a friends house with kiddos. WE had such a great time playing “apples to apples” and chatting. I love it too:)

If I was in your zip code, you know I would have been there girl (and we could have made fun of J.Lo’s jumpsuit together. FOR REAL WHAT WAS SHE THINKING? haha) Glad you had fun with the friends!

Happy New Year from the other side of the world! Glad you enjoyed your NYE with kiddos. We let our two stay up to watch some fireworks…. and paid for it for days by having to deal with tired cranky kids. Just wanted to say, great choice of bedtime story! Mem Fox (author of that book) is an Aussie, and one of my all time favourites for books for kids. (If you check out my blog you’ll find some more titles you might like.) Leave me some love if you drop by!
