Miles isn’t very hands on with Jocelyn yet. He’s been pretty cautious around her and when asked if he would like to hold her, he says, “No thank you. Maybe when I’m older.” So we’ve been watching him warm up to new role as a big brother over the past two months. When I see little ways that he figures this new role out I try to play it cool and not get all paparazzi on him. However, I snuck a few in this past week.

Here he is with a doll that my mom gave Miles when we found out we were pregnant with Jocelyn. He was holding the baby, taking it’s clothes off and laid on the floor with it for a while, just looking at it’s hands and feet. I think it’s part of his process of figuring out his new world that includes a baby sister.

He may not want to hold the baby yet, but he certainly is very protective of her. When anyone else holds Jocelyn he says, “Hey, that’s not your baby. That’s mommy’s baby!”

I swear, I could fill an entire blog with photos of Jocelyn laying on a blanket. I lay her down and I just can’t resist snapping a photo. I just think she is so darn cute!
