same hat, different day

On a walk now… …and then. This was taken on September 4th, when Jocelyn was 6 weeks old. What a difference ten weeks makes to the way a hat fits, huh? She still loves to snooze during sunset walks though. It’s kind of neat how different the lighting was in the end of summer versus…

Wow, she has gotten so much bigger! I see a lot of Miles in her in that first one. I hope I get to snuggle her again soon!! 🙂

  • LaceyNovember 16, 2010 - 8:11 am

Is it just me or have even her lashes grown a ton in ten weeks?! She looks so cute & snuggly!

  • jess@studio3zNovember 16, 2010 - 8:21 am

precious punkin (who is also a Miles look-a-like!!) 🙂

  • JennaNovember 16, 2010 - 8:38 am

SO fun to see the difference time makes. Her lashes are gorgeous, but when you look at them versus the photo with no lashes, they look INCREDIBLE! I’m so glad you’re soaking it all in. It is all really such a gift.

if she needs a new hat to grow with her now let me know…I make them! 🙂

Funny that your confidence is growing now because it starts vanishing again when they get in there teens. My daughter is 17 now and I’m questioning every move I ever made. Hoping I did make all the right choices for her!

in that first one… she looks IDENTICAL to her brother!!! The big difference… she definitely has your eyes 🙂

scuze me, pardon me

So you’re just hanging out with your sis… when all of a sudden, out of nowhere, here comes the boy slamming right in the middle of your bed. (How rude!) Oh those pugs, they are so incredibly patient with our rambunctious boy. ]

Those photos are awesome! A boy and his Pug!

  • LizNovember 15, 2010 - 10:12 am

I think you need to change the last sentence to: “they are so incredibly patient with our rambunctious, PANTLESS boy.” 🙂 Too cute! I still want to get a dog…Nick just wants more kids!

    CUTEST THING EVER.

  • KelliNovember 18, 2010 - 6:30 pm

    So cute!

  • natasha zettlerNovember 19, 2010 - 9:38 pm

    little boys are the greatest!

my perfect little punkin

Just a quickie shot of her on the changing table, waiting to be dressed. Her healthy little body is the most perfect thing I’ve ever seen…since Miles’ little 3 month old body.

Love the chubby thighs!! I wish mine were that cute! ;o)

chewy

Jocelyn has a new favorite toy, (which doubles as a mommy status symbol) now that she can hold on to things, given to her by sweet Cassie. (I think that has to be the world’s most awkward sentence.) There is just something about her sweet little face, eyes closed and munching and those perfectly plump…

That to-do list can wait–you’re doing something much better–living in the moment & fully appreciating the happiness & joy that is a sweet baby girl to love every day! As always, she is adorable. P.S. That was an exciting stage for me, when my babies started holding & “playing” with toys! So cool to see them learning & developing!

  • JennaNovember 11, 2010 - 8:31 am

Oh, this really made me laugh! 1. because we should all be doing lots of other things besides reading and writing blog posts, right?! 🙂 (actually I view blog reading as my hobby) And 2. I have also noticed this little giraffe has become a status symbol. Cute to see Jossy holding on to it so tight!

  • CassieNovember 11, 2010 - 3:10 pm

I love the one of her nursing on its nose! How funny.

  • April Cochran-SmithNovember 11, 2010 - 3:58 pm

So. freaking. cute! Also, who knew Sophie was such a status symbol? I feel like such the trendy mom now 😉

  • Jessica ParkisonNovember 12, 2010 - 9:48 pm

Love the sophie! Is it strange that my first thought when seeing her nursing on the nose was “she has a perfect latch!” I guess being around lactation consultants so much will do that to you. She’s adorable!

  • Betsy Perry PattonNovember 16, 2010 - 1:32 pm

Best. Toy. Ever. Bless Sophie! Our friends from Montreal gifted us a Sophie when our son, Ira, was born. Sophie has since become our best friend. I love how she picks up character with age! Jocelyn’s is still so new and shiny! =)

my thrifting finds

So as you all know I”m in the midst of the worlds longest maternity leave, and it’s glorious. It really, truly is. However, not shooting clients also means I’m on a bit of a spending freeze. Yes dad, I have found out that money doesn’t grow on trees. However, I do still need to get… Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

  • ErinNovember 10, 2010 - 7:22 am

LOVE THEM BOTH! Great finds, Bets! Are they from Broadway Antiques?

  • CassieNovember 10, 2010 - 7:42 am

Love them both!!! Paint it white! Paint it white!

  • Jessica ParkisonNovember 10, 2010 - 8:08 am

Great finds! I hardly go in the Salvation Army but this weekend I found an awesome purple “vintage-like” table/desk for a workspace for $12, and a very vintage sofa(that i didn’t get since we don’t have a space to store it) for $24! Love the quilt, i’ve been looking for one on etsy but maybe I should just antique my way to one!

I love both the chair and the quilt! The chair looks like it has already been re-upholstered. You might have another surprise waiting for you underneath. 🙂 Sad that the beautiful quilt ended up in the basement of an antique store. Probably from an estate sale. I always wonder about the history of stuff…

  • AnneNovember 10, 2010 - 9:20 am

I love the chair and quilt! What salvation army did you go to in FW? I know there is one off of Lima and downtown.

  • AmandaNovember 10, 2010 - 11:11 am

Too fun! I love thrift/flea/vintage shopping, though I don’t always have the patience. I have to be in the right mood it seems. Maybe a sweater shaver for the white fuzzies/nubbies? Or leave ’em, a sign of something used and loved. 😉

  • Tira JNovember 10, 2010 - 11:40 am

Major finds! I love that chair, and I don’t think you should do anything to it, other than maybe oil the wood and scotch guard the fabric. And that quilt? Great piece for family portrait sessions. Love it!

  • KailaNovember 10, 2010 - 8:57 pm

Oh what awesome finds! I LOVE the chair! It is beautiful! I can image it painted white and even with a fun cream and white damask covering- so cool!

  • jess@studio3zNovember 11, 2010 - 9:02 am

Cool finds!!! I totally dig that chair. I just found a great antique mall that is 5 mins from my house. It could get lost and live in there for DAYS! If you make it here sometime, we’ll go together. 😉

  • April Cochran-SmithNovember 11, 2010 - 3:56 pm

LOVE both of these finds! The quilt that we used in our family pictures was a thrift store find. It was $35 & I remember really debating it. So glad I went back for it. And that chair? AH-mazing. If that material really is in good shape, I wouldn’t change a thing – it’s perfect, well, except for the scratchiness 😉
