In chatting with Lo before her shoot, I learned that she loves football, Gilmore Girls and loves to dance. She’s always mistaken for being much younger than she really is and wants to change that with her senior photos. She loves to laugh, but can be a deep talker and listener too. She loves art and photography (see, I told you all my senior girls are artsy. LOVE IT!) But the best part of learning about Lo was when she said this about herself:
“BASICALLY, I know no other way to describe myself than to say that I am in LOVE with LIFE.”
I couldn’t help but smile when I read that in her email to me. Her energy was contagious.
So, as you look through these photos, I hope you’ll see her love for life jumping off of these photos and showing in her sparkling eyes and smile.
As I have mentioned in past posts, Lo was SUPER excited about her shoot. Then we had the spring we have been having and it just kept raining. BOO! The day of her shoot, I was determined to give it a try, so the shoot started out with my trusty, albeit broken, pink umbrella.

She’s an awesome runner (who I hear through the grapevine today just won a bunch of awards at award night this week. Go Lo!!) so we had to get the running shoes in a shot.

Then we headed down to a little antique shot and celebrated the sun coming out. Looking at her reflection in the window she kind of looks like she could by my little sister. (Not to flatter myself or anything…)

She wasn’t so sure about doing some serious faces. I mean, it’s LO, the incredible smiling machine, but she worked it out!! I need to work on my things to say to inspire serious faces. Everything I had made her laugh.

Lo, I didn’t want to give away your graduation present, but it’s that owl behind you in the window. Awesome, huh?![]()
Then out came the Anthropologie dress and I suddenly felt like I was shooting for their catalog.

There’s here awesome laugh!

Lo said she wanted the color of her eyes to come out in her photos. Like I wasn’t going to focus on those beautiful eyes. Oh, and raise your hand if you wish you had skin that glowed like that. Beautiful!!!!

Lo and I WALKED ALLLLLLL OVER TOWN for her shoot. Bless her. John knows this from when he used to shoot for me but I’m sooooo known to say, “All right we are done…..oh wait, just one more….OH! Just one more, I promise!!!”

Here’s another one from the end of her shoot. I know, Lo, this doesn’t show the color of your eyes, but it shows how gorgeous the shape of your eyes are and I just think you are adorable here!

So do you all agree? Do you see a girl who just LOVES LIFE in these photos? I do! After spending so much time prepping for her shoot, working with her and feeling her excitement from across town for her final photos, I totally see it.
Check out her slideshow, with music written by my hubby John.
Lo, I wish you ALLLLLL the best as you wrap up your senior year. It was awesome getting to know you and I hope you keep in touch! I can’t wait to see where all your positive energy and talent takes you.
P.S. Thank you Lo for being so patient. I had hoped to get this post up for her hours ago, but tonight has been a series of unfortunate events in the King household. Thankfully, tomorrow is another day and another chance to work on “loving life,” Lo style.![]()
