Ok, so I’ve finally stopped with all the teasing and came out with it….we are having another baby! (AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!) Did you see my new animation in my blogsite header? (There is ANOTHER new one!) If you can’t see it, and you come here often, you will need to hit refresh. (Mom, that’s the little arrows that look like a recycling sign at the top of your web browser.) Miles LOVES watching the new “cartoon” on my blog. He said, “There goes that bird! He’s building a nest!” So yes, we have two nests being built around here. Our new studio space AND the one we are (going to need to start) building for the new baby on the way.
I should have a photo of myself here, looking shocked, excited and a bit freaked out, but to be 100% truthful, I have not felt or looked so hot lately. I’m the typical pregnant woman right now, feeling a bit green and pretty tired. My free time is spent running out to grab whatever my latest craving is (miso soup, california rolls and breakfast sandwiches) or face down on the couch. I had to blog about this big news because my mom is about ready to unleash an airplane banner with the news across Fort Wayne if I didn’t let the cat out of the bag soon!
Besides the extra sleepiness and nausea that has been added to our life, we are buzzing with excitement! You know me, I wear my heart on my sleeve, so I’ll be blogging about how the pregnancy is going and what that looks like for our little world. I’m going to use the little “We’re Expecting” logo you see above on future blog posts that talk baby talk. (The logo might also act as a warning label to any readers that aren’t into hearing about pregnancy talk to skip that post.)
The logo is blue, but don’t let that fool you into thinking we know the sex yet. First of all, I’m still pretty early in my pregnancy. A lot earlier than most would feel comfortable sharing this news, so we couldn’t possibly know yet. Also, we aren’t planning on finding out the sex of the baby this time around. (Don’t ask me HOW I will handle not knowing. I’m still not sure I’ll be able to wait.) However, I am still very open on names, so feel free to start commenting your suggestions. My friend Amy texts suggestions to me every day. Just make sure they sound good with King. King is a trickier last name than you would think.
So that’s the latest big news in the King family! The baby is planning on arriving this summer, which means I’ll have to be really strict about wrapping up all of my photography work and product sales this spring before I shut down for my maternity leave. It’s going to be a busy, busy spring, but I’m sure that will just make the time go faster. Though I have to admit, I’m not the type of pregnant woman to wish away a pregnancy. I remember last time, I wanted Miles to slow down and give me more time to prepare!
When I post my openings for 2010 sessions next year, bookings will be very limited. I’m not a mass quantity photographer anyway, so honestly, my schedule will probably look very similar to last year, just a shorter season. I’ll keep everybody posted on that. Yippee! I’m so excited that I get to tell the whole world now! My Christmas cards will be arriving soon to announce the news as well so soon everybody will know. Thanks for tuning in. It’s so much fun to get to share such exciting news!

What awesome news!! During both of my pregnancies I was miserably nauseous, totally uncomfortable, and downright BLAH…and let me tell you, I’d do it again in a heartbeat. LOVE ME SOME BABIES! I can’t wait to see the cuteness that is King baby #2.

I had a feeling you’d be sharing something like this sooner than later. You and John are such amazing parents that you should have more babies. They’re so blessed to grow up in your home!
