a man and his mower

John really tries to consider the environment when he makes a purchase and honestly, this guy really loses sleep over it if he doesn’t. It’s always bugged him that he has been using a gas mower and they are really, really bad for the environment. Like worse than cars. When we met he had a reel push mower (the old fashioned ones) that I thought was ridiculous. (That was before I saw the light and jumped on board with him environmentally and I now feel really bad I got rid of it.)

So John’s Earth Day gift to himself and to the earth was a new battery powered mower. he LOVES it! It’s SO quiet too! It sounds like a big box fan.

So here’s the man and his mower. I feel like I should insert a dramatic phrase here like, “An unshakable bond.” I guess i just did. 😉

BTW, those jeans are recycled too. The ONLY jeans that fit this man are Guess jeans and they are always $100 plus bucks and we don’t have a Guess here anymore, so when we found these gems at a used clothing store a few years ago we hit the jackpot. However, when they got a hole in them John was getting a cold breeze during his walks with the pugs so he patched them one afternoon all by himself. (Yea, like I have time to sit and mend pants. What is this, 1945?) It was the cutest thing though. He did a great job and they are still comfy and warm. I think the orange bandana is a cute touch. (That could be because I thought it up!)

Yea for you John! If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t know which # of plastic to recycle, and would never of considered cloth diapers. Thanks for helping me be a better steward of the earth. Our next goal is remembering to bring our own grocery bags to the store. It’s all I can do to drag myself to the store and remember my purse, but I’ll work on it.

So happy late Earth Day. We love you earth!

What a sweet post, my love! Thanks for all your kind words. And to your credit, you’ve jumped on board with every crazy idea I’ve come up with. (Who does cloth diapers this day and age?) Here’s to doing what we can to help Miles inherit a beautiful planet!

    Love you! John
