baby paint!

This morning John and I took Miles to the cutest 40 minutes of our week: a baby paint class at the community center. They had the most adorable teachers, fresh out of college and bright eyed and bushy tailed. The paint was edible and they kept changing the activities every few minutes. It’s was great. Wish we could go every Friday!

Minus sitting behind the type A mom that was trying to clean her baby constantly through the whole class and then reprimanding him for crying by hissing, “Stop it!” It was awesome. Miles was pretty concerned with the crying baby (as we were too, I mean, it’s a baby paint class. Clean freaks need not apply. Sheesh!) but for the most part, he was into playing with the paint and the pudding.

BTW, if you want to do this at home, just add food coloring to sweetend condensed milk (totally gross, I know) frosting or cool whip and let them play.

The funniest moment was when the teacher goes, “Do you want to save your painting?” When I said, “No, that’s ok.” She looked at me like, “What kind of mother are you?” Yea, I’ve got 18 years of saving art work, I think I’m good for now. We were just there for the experience.

After class, we got some photos of me with Miles, since I’m always behind the camera.

John and I used to take dance lessons in this room at the community center so I wanted to take Miles on a little spin on the dance floor. My friend Renee has dreams of Miles being her daughter’s ballroom dance partner, so Renee, we are working on it!

Man, this was a rough batch of photos to white balance. Forgive me if these are inconsistent. I just had so much fun, I had to throw some photos up during nap time.

Well, I just indulged big time in some rare mid-day blogging. I better go tackle some work.

Happy Friday! Oh and Happy one week anniversary Cassie & Jason!

That looks like fun! Bet our own 18 month old would just love it, too! Might have to try it….I’m somewhere between the Type A and laid-back, cool mom though. lol…we’ll try it at home first.
