holiday lights with our iphone

Yesterday we did a shoot at the Botanical Gardens and while there we saw all the hustle and bustle around town as they prepared for the downtown Holiday lighting festival. So, after dinner we all bundled up and headed downtown. (Thankfully, my cold held off until we got back home.) They had the streets surrounding the big lighting light displays blocked off, free hot chocolate stations on every corner (and in every little downtown establishment such as the Loaf & Ladle and the Pint & Slice) and they had these adorable oversized candy garlands hanging from the street lights. (so cute!) Santa was there too, of course, which is a whole new thrill now that we have Miles. He totally knew who he was said, “Sanka Clause!” “Ho ho ho!” when he saw him. Our heads about exploded from the cuteness.

There were tons of people there and the Fort Wayne police had their little segway looking scooters to help them keep the peace. Those things are so weird and nerdy looking, but I have to admit I’m dying to zoom around on one of those things.

So here are some photos from our iphones from the evening. (Yes, you will be seeing tons more iphone photos from now on.) The photo on the top right is of Miles gazing at the big Santa in lights (with new energy efficient LED bulbs) partially shown at the bottom of the collage.

Holiday

We also went to the Botanical Garden (hey, we already had paid admission) and we got to see real reindeer and another santa was there. Though the real hit was the fact that Miles could literally ZOOOOOOM through the entire garden with us in his wake and there was even more hot chocolate, which he affectionately kept calling “apple cider” and hot tea. His two favorite hot beverages.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I have to admit, that I have literally spent the entire day in bed. It’s not a huge surprise, because I have this terrible habit of getting sick RIGHT at the holidays. I’m hoping this means I’ll be good for Christmas. (Crossing fingers!) We did take some time today to talk about the things we are thankful for as we are feeling so blessed. Having our precious Miles, my sweet husband (who has been amazingly helpful while I have been ill) and our businesses that allow us to work from home and be together so much are some of the top ones on the list. Also, we are so thankful that we have so many loving and supportive friends. Thank you for being in our life! (Even if it is over the net!)

Thanks also to everybody who has been so sweet to help me keep an eye on my blog as we make the painful transition to our new server. Again, if the blog is down, just come back later. This transition should be over soon!

PS I have to say, that after listing all the big things to be thankful for, we had to add our iphones to the list! (Yes, you are allowed to be annoyed that I can’t shut up about our phones.) Good gracious they are AMAZING. I seriously had no idea how much these things can do!!!

Looks like so much fun! Makes me think maybe we should quit being such homebodies and get out a little more. 😉

That is a lot to be thankful for! I know I can’t get over our little Bug either and he is 19 months; seriously not a day goes without me being in amazement over him and his journey from “peanut” in my belly, to newborn, to toddler and all the amazing stuff that lies ahead. =)

Sorry you’ve been sick, get well soon!

Okay are you trying to get me to go to the Apple store and buy an IPhone or what?
