my 24-7 on call model

As I mentioned the other night, I’m switching photo management software. I got enough people to ask me which one, so I’ll share that I’m switching from Aperture to Lightroom. I have to say, I just wish the two would get married so I could use their offspring for my work. Lightroom has some snazzy stuff, but there are things I miss about Aperture. I’m so tempted to just put on my comfortable old shoe that is Aperture just to get some things done, but I’m forcing myself to sit down every night and do some editing to keep learning.

So, I figured since I can’t share all the new things that are brewing (brewing meaning still cooking and not ready yet!) for my biz, I would share with you some photos I’ve taken around the house and that I’m practicing my new software on.

The other day Miles grabbed my hat and since he looked completely adorable in it, I asked if he wouldn’t mind doing a little photo shoot. He said, “Ok!” (If you know Miles, you know I’m not exaggerating the exclamation mark.) I don’t even think these photos are 100% in focus because I was laughing so hard as I took this. There is just something about a big floppy hat on your kid that always makes you laugh.

Here he is, clearly loving the attention and the cuteness of his hat.

We think Miles has gotten his dramatic side from me.

and his eternal happiness and optimism from John.

Thanks for letting me share. I’ve been processing photos and practicing with Lightroom every night after I work on biz stuff for this year. Who knows what Miles will do tomorrow to inspire me.

Nighty night gang!

OH MY!! I don’t think he could get any stinking cuter. And his CHEEKS! How do you go through the day not devouring them up?…or at least pinching them 1,000 times?

I believe that first look is known as “Magnum” and the second one is “Ferrari.” I tried to work on “Blue Steel” with Miles at Christmas, but he insisted on eating a cookie instead.
