For three years now I have made an end of the year slideshow showing my life in photos. Sadly, 2008’s link is broken (On To Do list: fix that), here is the 2009 slideshow and over the weekend I made 2010’s slideshow. Yes, I know I’m practically an entire season behind, but I blame the whole “having a second baby” on my delay. Jocelyn will probably be in middle school and I’ll still be using that excuse for late permission slips and forgotten lunch money. As they say though, better late then never! These end of year slideshows have become a really important tool for us to use to archive our family and sit back at the end of the year and reflect on how much we have grown and what we learned from that past year.

As I gathered the photos and chose the songs my heart has just been swelling with so much nostalgia and love for my sweet family and friends. What an amazing year 2010 was. We jumped into building a studio space, went through that nuttiness, outfitted the space, watched my belly grow, watched Miles go from a baby sleeping in a crib to this grown up boy in a big boy bed and of course, welcomed our sweet baby girl into the world. That was only the beginning as of course we wrapped up the year getting our sea legs as a party of four. So much good stuff happened. It’s really a great exercise in feeling thankful to watch an entire year go by before your eyes. We have been seriously stressed out and in a funk lately so making the show was a great way for me to be reminded of my blessings.

Usually I time the photos to flash by super quick to cram it all into one nice little package for everybody’s short attention spans. However, this year I realized that this is what I’m creating for us to look back on and remember this beautiful time. We don’t want to rush by! So I allowed more time with each slide and yea, it’s a lot longer. I have no idea if anybody besides our parents will watch the whole thing, but it would be awesome if you did! It’s my whole heart and my whole world popped up on a computer screen. It gives me such joy to share the sweetness and funkiness of it all with you.

PS I fell in love all over again with the photos that Bobbi did for us a couple times this year. After watching this show I’m suddenly inspired to do a big photo gallery wall. Though that would need me to paint our cathedral celling living room. (PROJECT ROAD BLOCK!) Well, someday…
