ahhhh…..

What an awesome weekend!!!

Saturday I had a very rare Amy Conner siting at our house and she brought along her sweet (and cute!) as can be, boyfriend Jon. They were in town for the weekend from the East Coast and between the two of us, we had about 45 seconds we were both free out of the whole weekend, but as always, we made a quick meet up happen.

Amy and Jon are the type of magical beings that LUVVVVVV alll babies and children and children sense that and flock to them. Seriously, I was somewhere out in public with Amy once and a little toddler, a total stranger not even in our group, just walked right up to Amy, looked up at her with arms stretched up and wanted to be held. That’s only one example, there are many more. Well, Amy says that her boyfriend Jon is just like her so I thought it would be fun to go on a quick little walk before they had to go and pop Miles on Jon’s back for a stroll.

Here’s Jon showing Miles, in the reflection of the car window, his best impression of the face Miles makes when he’s looking at himself in the video camera. (Jon knows this because he’s a big fan of Miles’ videos. How SWEET is JON!? We love this guy.) I was ribbing on John tonight or focusing on Miles instead of John’s face. Ha! That’s actually a funny parent thing to do, to focus on your baby when taking a photo. It’s still a fun photo and tells the story. (And shows off my geeky khaki shorts….) I’m still giggling about Jon’s impression of Miles’ goofy face. We’ve got some expressive guys in our life.

An Amy smooch for Miles. He had been a little shy, but there’s not running away when you are strapped to someone’s back!

Amy walks a Great Pyrenees dog back at home, so the pugs were cake for this pro.

Miles was on a nap strike that whole day. He looks like he’s ready to crash, huh? I’m going to add Jon to the list of shiny, happy people we know and love. Yippee!

It was awesome to see these two, but as always, nevvvver long enough. Thanks for stopping by guys!!

Later that evening John went off to write music and I geeked out with my friend and fellow photographer Gail. She is a friend I met online in the craziest way and we ended up growing up within minutes of each other, even sharing the same piano teacher. (Though Gail still knows how to play the piano, I never made it past Fur Elise.) She, like some of my favorite friends who hang in there with me, was totally up for topic hopping like crazzzzy. Once again, time flew by too quickly. Thanks for coming by girl!

Then, the last 24 hours of the Labor Day weekend has been spent with Kevin, Erin and Preston up at my favorite Indiana lake. It was a WONDERFUL getaway and the weather was PERFECTO!!! We ate, swam, lazed (is that a word?) on the boat and baby gazed at our precious boys. We even got a rare adult only boat ride when our boys were sleeping. It was so weird! It was like we took a quick trip in the time tunnel to when we were all newlyweds again. We didn’t have room in our car to pack one more thing, so no photos from us, but there will be plenty of photos from “Preston’s Mommy Photography” from Erin’s point and shoot. Oh I miss them (and our little mini-vacation) already!

Tomorrow we get to have reality slammed in our face with a joint dentist appointment. Grrrrrrrreat. (Come on! No whammies! No whammies! John NEVER gets cavities, but I haven’t been so lucky, so hopefully my Star Crunch phase won’t bite my in the booty.) Happy Tuesday to us!

Ahh….I had a blast with you too Bets!! It’s amazing how I could still come away from Saturday evening thinking “We’ll tackle that topic next time” but it seems we always have something to gab about 🙂

Your family is the sweetest – and so glad to hear you guys had a great weekend at the lake. The weather was AWESOME!

So many times in his life he resembles Noah. Here is another one of those times. Maybe it’s the hat, the thumb, the seriousness of his precious little face. He’s adorable. I miss him and you guys.

I got to see Amy too this weekend!!! 🙂 It was completely random… Nico, Eli and I went out for Breakfast and we saw the whole Conner family!! It was AWESOME!!! It had been so long since I’d actually seen her, but I felt like it was just yesterday (she’s that type of person AND I read about her in your blog… so that helps too 🙂 I got to meet John too. From what I met and now what I read, He’s a keeper!! 🙂 While it was only a short chat with both of them, it just made my day!!
