No more waiting! Betsy King Photography it is! Or BKP if your nasty. (Sorry, I’m so into quoting late 80’s songs lately!)

I had considered using a more symbolic name for my business, but the people and things I photograph come to life because of the way I see the light, interact with them or choose to tell the story. So as the author of these “stories” I tell, I decided to use my name.

Ok, so the name choice may not be much of a surprise, but the branding and logo that comes along will be a surprise to ALL of us. Me included as it’s still very much in process. I have figured out how picky, complex and difficult I am to create a logo for. Bless EVERYONE who has been involved in this process! (My designer is a SAINT.) I’m a hyper person, but with a bit of mellow mixed in. I’m quirky, very random, imperfect, romantic yet a bit cynical, outgoing and laid back, but still feminine. Oh, and I’ll tell you my whole life story the first time we meet and odds are, you’ll feel compelled to do the same. Try designing all of THAT in a logo. I’ve realized what a tough customer I am and I’ve also discovered that the right design will come with time. So stay tuned.

Oh, and you may have noticed my guy Miles is gone from my little message in my blog header. He is replaced with a little haiku I wrote about what’s going on. Remember how I said I was random? Why would you expect ANYTHING BUT a haiku from me?

I’m off to work on more changes now. I know change is hard for people, but don’t worry, I’ll be taking it bit by bit around here! You have NO idea how excited I am about this season!!!

PS How sad will you guys be if this blog background goes away? I love it so much, I’m not sure I can let it go! (See what I said about change being hard!)
