Miles counts…and so does your vote!

Today’s a big ‘ol blog of randomness. Try to keep up. 😉

First of all, as you can see from my title, I’ve got a little video of Miles counting to 12. His voice gets super soft when he counts, so you have to listen carefully. Lately, he’s leaving the 3 out, but with our keen parenting ears, we hear him count the rest of the way to 12. When I uploaded this to YouTube I saw another Miles out there who is 19 months and can count to 15. Oh well, it’s still cool to us to count to 12! The fun thing about being a first time parent is everything is awesome and we have no idea if it’s behind, normal or advanced. None of it matters because it’s all so much fun.

and, to stay on the theme of “12,” enjoy a some dancing to the tune, Ladybug Picnic.

Speaking of things that count, tomorrow is the biggest election ever!! AHHHH I’m so excited this day is finally here!

Not only am I excited to have a new president, but I’m SUPER stoked to stop getting 50 (sometimes nasty) political emails a day. My inbox is scary enough, so I’ll be thrilled to get it cleaned out a bit and make it a more politically neutral place. (Anybody else ready to get back to regular forwards warning us of bad guys spraying women with perfume in parking lots and good luck prayers that will give you bad luck if you don’t forward it to five people? I know I am!)

Living in Indiana, I have to say that every election year the focus was always on what the other states were going to do. It’s super exciting to actually have a neck and neck battle going on right here. It’s going to be fascinating to see which way our state goes tomorrow. You can definitely feel the buzz in the air! So get out and vote everybody!!! (Unless you were smarter than us and already did. Darn you!)

Moving on from the election, Sunday was a great day and a sad day for us. No matter how much I begged John to hold off, he still decided it was time to put the trampoline away. (I had so much remorse that I didn’t jump as much as I wish I had!!) So we got some last jumps in before he got put away for next spring. Here’s John, aka Gumby, giving the trampoline one more whirl. Man, I’m eating so much halloween candy that I REALLLLLY need to burn some calories! I miss my trampoline! : ( (Come on John, let’s just bite the bullet and buy that jogging stroller!)

After the trampoline was put away, we had some lunch and headed out to a kid’s philharmonic concert our Kindermusik teacher had recommended. Well, Miles had gone from his nap, to the highchair to the car seat, so do you think sitting during a concert was top on his list? Nope. It wasn’t as much for kids really as we had expected either, so we bailed on the concert mission (though darn it, we are TRYING to be cultured!) and just let Miles RUN and RUN and RUN around IPFW’s campus. It was a BEAUTIFUL day and Miles was having a blast, so we weren’t too bummed to miss the concert. I had my camera in the car as I had a photography assignment I needed to finish for a clothing designer out in Arizona, so I was able to get some work done, play with my family, and enjoy this amazing fall weather at the same time.

So check out these cute shirts from Paperlili Clothing (CUTE stuff!) and our crazy-fast little guy. Oh, and the brainiac behind Paperlili, the very sweet and fun Cristy, featured Miles on her blog today. Check it: www.paperlili.blogspot.com

Here’s my favorite tee. What can I say, I love blue glitter on my boy!

Oh, and since the rest of the world has already started to embrace Christmas, we are too! Your kid NEEDS one of these shirts. It was genius to pair the gold up with the red and pink.

Of course, Miles is almost 2, but he’s still technically still in the “1” crowd. My friends know, I LOVE to dress Miles in blue (hello, to match his eyes!) so you know this shirt is one of my faves. BTW, you should have seen me trying to photograph Miles. As you can see, he barely made it in the frame because he moves SOOOO FAST!!!!!

Miles had a BLAST that day exploring the campus and got FLITHY in doing so. If there is an apple or a berry to be picked or played with, he’s on it.

All right, I gotta go, I have TONS of photos to process and albums to design! Take care and get out and VOTE!!!!!!

That’s got to be one of the cutest things in the entire world, and John looks like he’s having a BLAST. I never did like trampolines…get awfully sick on them.

    Have a great week Betsy!

Betsy – What a fun Sunday! I love the trampoline picture! I would kill to have one of those in our backyard. I checked out the Paperlilli t-shirts…they are awesome! I wish I would have know about her stuff earlier, I would have totally gotten Olivia a “2” shirt. And of course, all of the pics are great!

These are adorable! Way to go with the counting! I love all of the different tshirts you put on Miles, definately love the Santa one, I would never consider it a boys shirt but with the gray undershirt, I love it. Thanks for turning us on to such awesome designers! And your photos of him running around are all great!
