new addition to our patio

please excuse my temporary insanity last evening with the three posts, two of them being requests for shopping help. I get a little odd late in the evening. (Yep, it’s just in the evening.) Though don’t let that stop you from sending me advice. I think I might ask for shopping advice every day. Do you know how much fun it is getting photos of cute shoes in your inbox in the morning? If I ever can’t sleep some evening I should put together a collage of all the cute shoe advice I’m getting. It’s verrrry colorful. 🙂

Speaking of sleep, we all got up early today so I had a couple extra minutes to throw together some photos of Miles in his new sand/water table from my mom. We are trying to find ways to keep him engaged because without a fenced in yard, it’s a struggle to keep him from just wanting to run to all of our neighbor’s goodies in their yards.

For the most part, it’s working, though the sand doesn’t always stay in the table.

Sand

I included that profile of Miles in that collage because doesn’t he totally look like the old Alfred Hitchcock logo?

There’s also a photo taken through our backdoor window of John patting down the sand, making it perfect for Miles right after he assembled it. Isn’t it such a DAD thing to LOVE assembling toys for kids?

Also, in that top right photo, how pathetic do the pugs look stuck on the inside looking out?

So Miles STILL likes to run to the neighbor’s house. Here he is running between our house and the neighbor’s house to retrieve some of their sand toys for his sand table. Oh we are VERY lucky our neighbor’s like kids and like to share! You’ve got to hand it to Miles, he’s a resourceful little fellow.

Oh and of course there was sand tasting…

All right, no more play for me. It’s the first day of a super busy week. Gotta run!!!

Mmmm, delicious sand. Nothing is weirder than wiping the boy after going to the bathroom the next day and it being all gritty…Murphy is only just now over sand-eating

I loved this post! Probably because Evan would totally do the same thing with the neighbor’s toys! You should see him at the pool. He loves to “take” other kids’ noodles, balls, etc. I love the photo of the cars in the sand also. It’s amazing where we find those little cars, huh? I had one hiding in my purse for a week! LOL!

I love his rainbow “leg socks.” (I’m not sure the official term… legwarmers?) Makes great sense if you have the shoes off in the house rule like we have at our house. 🙂

Love that you don’t fence him in. We fenced out kids in. Great for a lot of reasons… but somedays wish we hadn’t.

Ohhhh…we might need to try that sand table to keep Zane in the yard too. He was looking at this with me earlier (and I didn’t comment thing- forgive me) and screamed CARS! SAND! We seriously need to get the boys together. And Miles…you have such good style!
