I’ll give you one guess why my kitchen floor feels like a beach

No, I didn’t put Miles’ new sand & water table in our kitchen. It’s on our back patio, but good gracious, sand LOVES to travel and it’s EVERYWHERE. Ahhh, the joys of summer. 🙂 PS I think John and I are having more fun with it. PPS Thanks Grandma! More real pics later….

I can relate. I’ve been doing my morning jogs on the beach since it’s warm out…and there is sand in every room of our apartment. The pictures in your previous post are just too much. It’s good to see pics of you & Miles together!

It’s so fun to see things on Twitter come to pass on your blog! 😉

Don’t let him get in your bed after playing in it! 🙂

treasuring a rare “baby Miles” moment

“John, QUICK! Grab the camera before Miles hops up!” I wish I could bottle the smell of his hair and those puppy breath kisses of his. He’s a big boy one minute, still a baby the next. Sweetest time of my life…so far. 😉

I can’t even see the smile on your face, yet I can tell how content you are by the light in your eyes….such a wonderful mother…

  • JessicaJune 9, 2009 - 4:56 pm

Are those moments the best? It seems the older they get the less they happen. Enjoy every second! 🙂

  • Diane - DB ImpressionsJune 10, 2009 - 1:28 am

Those are, ABSOLUTELY, without a doubt, the best mommy moments EVER. That, and when they fall asleep next to you without a movement or a sound….just their eyes flutter closed…..sniff.

  • Abra MichelleJune 10, 2009 - 3:10 am

Love it. You two are the cutest together. Memories are wonderful but it’s a whole lot nicer to have pictures like this to document the memory as a hard fact. You are so fortunate to have someone to take pictures of you and your baby. It’s something I miss out on.

  • EmilyJune 11, 2009 - 12:18 am

As ridiculous as it is, only a mother can bury her nose in the mop-top of her toddler and just breathe in all that sleepy (I think that’s a scent?), somewhat sweaty/outdoorsy, tossled-hair smell that seems like the pure essence of a happy child. I know that I’ve smelled the heads of many-a-kid and there is nothing more comforting than the top of your own child’s head…especially when it’s resting on your chest. For me, in that moment, everything is right in the world. I could go on an on about toes and fingers and hands of little ones all day…but didn’t realize that I, too, love the smell of their hair! I love these pictures of you and Miles.

SOOOO Sweet!!! Hope to meet you soon, funny how we can know so many people in common but not have met yet. It will happen…looking forward to it 🙂

  • Maya LaurentJune 12, 2009 - 2:20 am

Good job John for grabbing the camera!!! Love this moment with you two! Hope you found a way to bottle it up…I’d like to do that with Zane!

i’ll let the photo tell the story

I’m busy, busy, busy and loving it, however, I HATE that I have been too busy to blog. I have a million stories and pictures from my heart (and my hard drive) I would love to share. However, no time right now, so I chose a photo from Miles’ Kindermusik class that can tell a…

So precious! I’ve been a blog stalker for a few months and have never commented before, but that little girl in the background’s face is just too much. She is all kinds of jealous! =)

  • LizJune 8, 2009 - 10:06 pm

my best friend, in love

Here’s one of my dearest friends, Amy. She’s in love with Jonathan and getting married in less than a month. (AHHHHHH! I’m so excited for them!!!!) I’ve been waiting and excited to be a bridesmaid for Amy since we used to talk about wedding dresses when we worked as lifeguards a million years ago. During…

Very sweet. And here I was being annoyed at the fluffy floating things all day. What a way to put a positive spin on them. 🙂

  • MichelleJune 5, 2009 - 4:12 am

Ha! I swallowed one of those fluffy things yesterday. 😉 not cool.

So cool you BFF is getting married. 🙂

My heart is bursting, too! Jonathan is a dear friend of mine (and now, so is Amy!) and I’m thrilled for them. They look so peaceful and content to just be holding each other. I look forward to seeing more of their photo shoot and meeting you at the wedding.

Oh, Betsy! Thank you so much for this priceless picture and for all you are doing to show your love. You are a wonderful friend. We love you so very, very much. Love, Judy

pondering my addiction

Recently the word “workaholic” has been thrown around our household. I think when you run creative businesses out of your home, it is hard to escape it. (Ok, lets admit it, it really never leaves your mind.) Of course, when you love what you do, it’s not a bad thing, but even something you love… Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

By the way, if I haven’t said it out loud, I really appreciate how much you try to stay off the computer and be present with Miles. It’s just one of the thousand reasons I think you’re an awesome Mom.

    Love you!

  • LizJune 4, 2009 - 2:34 pm

I LOVE that you are a mom who is OK with letting your child drink from the hose. I’m all for organic, earth friendly, and health conscious behaviors…but I believe we can also go a bit over the top worrying about all that stuff. If your child is thirsty and the hose is there…go for it! By the way, Miles’s hat rocks!

  • MichelleJune 4, 2009 - 3:59 pm

The hose drinking shot with the iphone is GOOD. My iphone pics tend to be blurry. 😉

Anyway, I understand the always thinking about it even when you’re not working thing. I think my husband would tell you how often he hears photo related things when we’re doing something else completely. 😉

Oh well, at least he’s hearing positive stuff rather than me ranting about how much I hate my job. 😉 hehe.

  • jess@studio3zJune 4, 2009 - 7:07 pm

oh my gosh….the never ending balance of life/work/family/house. word up.

  • LisaJune 4, 2009 - 11:15 pm

Looks like fun! Glad some of the diapers still fit 🙂

  • Maya LaurentJune 5, 2009 - 1:19 pm

As I’m typing this Zane is playing right by me and I know I need to go play. It’s so hard, especially when you don’t always have childcare, to balance it all. Good for you for taking two weeks off!!! You will feel so much better afterwards!

  • Troy GroverJune 8, 2009 - 4:55 am

    So cute 🙂
