random thursday

I’ve been in a little bit of a roller coaster of emotions lately. One minute I’m totally in the moment of enjoying this amazing fall weather and my beautiful family. The next minute, I’m FREAKING out about my workload, lack of time to do it in and don’t even get me started on my lack of yoga or the state of my dirty floors. Anybody else feeling this way? Yesterday was a freak out day and today was a day for me to just forget my worries and CTFO. (That would be “chill the freak out” in King speak.)

It helped that I threw on my skinny jeans (actually felt a little skinny in them) with my cowboy boots and got outta the house for a while. When you are a stay at home mom and you have two businesses running out of your home, it’s verrrry easy to get in hermit mode. So actually putting on make up and clothes other than yoga pants and a hoodie help too.

So yea, I’m getting out of my funk. In honor of my funk, I’m going to post a random blog post since I haven’t been very chatty lately.

I’ll get things started with some Miles photos. First off, I have to say, I try really hard to not make this blog a place where I just gush about my son all the time. But I’m sorry, I can’t hide it any longer. John and I think this guy is a BABY GENIUS, not to mention just the sweetest little lovey dovey guy ever! I’m sure it’s because he’s our first baby and we have no idea how much toddlers can really do, but it is our daily joy to look at each other in amazement at what Miles does. He is in this stage where he wants us to read book after book, after book to him and asks for them each by their title. He says he loves people, asks for hugs and gives kisses. Tonight he made a fun noise and laughed so hard for like 5 minutes that he could barely breathe. It was AWESOME! Good gracious, I hear it all just gets better but our hearts are already exploding. As I mentioned above, I’ve had some grouchy days, but I get Miles up from his nap and it all melts away.

How could I be grouchy with this smooshy little happy face to love on?

I dare you to not want to pinch and kiss these cheeks. Why is it that little boys have the best eyelashes? He didn’t get those from me!

Ok, I’m done gushing about Miles…for now.

Btw, for the past week, we had a third pug in the house as we were babysitting my in law’s dog, Lelu. Three pugs plus a baby are a handful on our walks, but they sure are cute.

While I’m at pug photos I had to post this one. Whisper’s little stick legs crack me up plus her smashed profile makes me smile.

To make this post even more random, I must post a small tribute to my very favorite tea that has been pushing me through a strange sore throat that so far (knock on wood) has not turned into a cold. Blackberry Sage Tea from The Republic of Tea, oh how I love you.

I’ve been processing the rest of my new friend Betsy’s family shoot this week and here are some fun action shots John captured.

I’ve been smiling the whole time I’m processing because the kids were just as sweet as they could be. (btw, the good thing about high waisted jeans is you can be photographed from behind like this without everybody singing, “I see London, I see France…”

Alright, we have some fun stuff going on tomorrow so I NEED to get to bed. How is it already past midnight? Thanks for hanging in there on my random post!

PS Did you catch SNL’s Thursday night live election update? HILARIOUS!!!!

so much to comment on -sorry things are icky as of late – you’ll trudge through and getting out in cowboy boots isn’t a bad start.

second – sorry to tell you, but Miles is starting to look like a little boy -even with those squishy cheeks. so bittersweet – as they get bigger – i look at Jon and I can see my fuzzy baby with the big cheeks and dark eyes – but he’ nearing 7 and I can see the young man he’ll be. don’t even get me started on the other two!

third – the tea rocks – thank you for exposing me to it – after your house last summer I bought some and never looked back.

have a great weekend! take care!

Awww — those cheeks of Miles’ are too cute 🙂

I’m with you on the high waisted jeans — I need to get me some! My bro, when he helps me, always starts clearing his throat when my back becomes visible. When he’s not around to help, I just have to wear baggy tees to avoid it!
