I have a feeling I’m going to blink my eyes and he’ll be 16, sitting at the table without a shirt on, staring out the window as he eats his cereal.
Since I’m discovering it all goes by so fast, I will kiss and squeeze those cheeks as much and just eat him up as much as I can.
As I kissed those cheeks tonight, fresh from the bath at their absolute softest, I wished for a form of media to somehow bottle the sense of touch and save it for later. I can capture his movement on video, his voice on a recording, his hand print in paper and ink and of course his face in a picture, but how do I bottle up that incredible softness of his skin? I don’t ever want to forget it.
Our neighbor once felt his cheeks and said, “Oh, his cheeks are so soft! Like a warm gummy bear….covered ever so lightly with a bit of cornstarch.” Well, I suppose someday when I’m old and grey and sitting somewhere gently stroking gummy bears covered in corn starch, I can perhaps reference this post and I won’t be considered half as batty as I suppose I’ll look and most likely, actually be.
Nighty night all of you. I’m off to dream of gummy bears.
what is our little guy thinking? most likely something very amazing. just precious.
OMG, he can’t possibly get any cutier!!!!!!!! I love the first sentance…it’s so true. ;o)
This is such a cute and precious post. You need to put it in his baby book=)
Seriously with a boy this cute you guys should have 8 or 10 more kids!
oh my goodness! he is darling
it really does Betsy. Please enjoy every single moment, or you’ll blink and he’s telling you that he no longer likes it when you kiss or touch him — 🙂 They become very independent so quickly.
Enjoy it, Please!
