some peaceful words

The grief surrounding the horrific tragedy on Friday in Connecticut is unimaginable. Any words I have to say are the same we are all saying: “How can someone?” “Why?” “Lord help those parents and children, how will they ever go on?” Amongst all the questions my heart has been crying out, there are some beautiful words that I did find comfort in from Mister Rogers. I had heard this before, and it circulated around Facebook yesterday. Just had to share it again.

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’ To this day, especially in times of ‘disaster,’ I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.” — Mister Rogers

May all of us, and especially those in Connecticut, find peace somehow and be only surrounded by the “helpers” and the countless of caring and loving people in the world. My prayers for peace and goodwill towards man is my greatest wish, now more than ever.

Did you hear about all the people from all around the country calling restaurants in Newtown in paying for people’s dinner bills? A little bit of beauty in all this horror.
