We are finally getting caught up with the rest of the world by getting our Christmas tree (in the pouring rain) on Sunday. It took all day to get the lights up, thanks to a few mysterious strand shortages, so I was pretty bummed we couldn’t get the ornaments on in the same day. However, before bedtime, I surprised the kids with their new 2012 ornament to put on the tree until we get the rest on. (Every year the kids get a new ornament that will be their’s to keep when they have their own tree someday.) I know the kids look pretty stoic here, but they were THRILLED with their new ornaments. There are so many precious moments during the holiday season. It’s so magical to see and feel all the excitement and wonder right along with them.
Big brother is always there to explain things to Joss.
The kids LOVE their ornaments I chose for them. You should see Miles’ impersonation of the pirate parrot, it’s hilarious!
In the morning, Joss was so excited to wake up to the tree all lit up.
She was NOT happy, however, to not be able to reach her ornament to get it down.
Our kids have the perfect ability to do the Alfred Hitchcock profile.
Oh and the biggest news from today is that Jocelyn can now stand up and walk on her cast. There’s no stopping her! Thankfully, the Hello Kitty ornament has survived Jocelyn re-hanging it a handful of times today.
Miles was so sweet, he said, “Mom, Dad, where’s your new ornament?” It’s true, I haven’t gotten out family one for the year. Where is your favorite place to get an ornament?
This is so precious. I love Miles’ PJs! 🙂
You know me, I love to make ornaments. I need to get on the ball and make one of Augie’s handprint this week.
I get the kids a Hallmark Ornament every yr and then we started a Disney ornament every yr since our Disney trip. My husband and I get a different family Disney ornament every yr as well!
I stopped in the orchard gallery (I think that’s what it is called) next to mocha lounge. They have beautiful hand-blown glass ornaments in a variety if sizes and price points. You should check them out!!
I hope I don’t sound creepy, since I don’t know you. But, I’ve been following your blog since my senior year of high school (2008) when you took some of my friend’s senior pictures! I just wanted to let you know that I think you have the most precious family and your kiddos are absolutely adorable! Happy holidays! 🙂
