Last week I did an awesome thing for myself. I got myself a studio assistant. (Insert huge sigh of relief here.)

Silly me, amongst all the planning for the studio, I didn’t realize ahead of time how much I would need one considering I can’t move heavy prop furniture around when I’m pregnant. (duh!) I was THRILLED to have a found someone so quickly. He’s a familiar face to the blog as he was a senior client this year. So for clients I’m shooting this spring, meet Evan!

Now I totally understand that it may feel weird to have someone watching you while you have your photo taken, but Evan does a great job of helping me out when I need it and then makes himself scarce so my clients feel comfortable. Though one of the fun things he does for me is he holds a fan to get some dramatic shots like these:

and then he had this senior laughing because he’s hilarious and a super laid back guy.

There’s a few shoots he won’t be there, but for the most part, Evan will be my sidekick this spring. I’m thinking I’m going to get so used to working with him that I’ll try to think of an excuse to still have a studio assistant once I return from my maternity leave.
