miles in the studio…for 3 seconds

We headed into the studio tonight to snag some shots of Miles and a quickie belly shot. It was pretty late when we got there and the studio always gets Miles SOOO excited to be there, so we had to work fast, as usual. Here’s our little guy, in action. He looks so grown up…

He is getting sooo big and will make an amazing big brother! I’m sure you’ve had plenty of offers, but if you need anyone to hang out with Miles for an afternoon once the baby comes, let me know! I’ll be back in Fort Wayne at the beginning of August and would be happy to help! πŸ™‚

  • SherryJuly 23, 2010 - 7:27 am

super cute! wish you would bring him swimming! how about Sunday?

  • annie pJuly 23, 2010 - 7:58 am

He will seem HUGE when baby king arrives. Babies never seem so small until you see their bigger sibling hold them.

  • CassieJuly 23, 2010 - 1:06 pm

Oh my goodness, he looks like such a big boy. He looks straight out of a J.Crew catalogue!! Where’s the belly shot?!? πŸ™‚

  • KelliJuly 23, 2010 - 3:24 pm

Love the one of him jumping with his eyes closed!

last days with just miles

Hi guys! I’m still here and the baby is still in my belly! I’m pretty happy about that as I am still feeling great, all things considered, (minus my HUGE feet) but I’m soaking up time with Miles and still feeling the crazy nesting urge and checking things off my to do list. I’m not…

You will be SO glad you did this! I have a recording of my (now 10-year-old) son ‘reading’ a truck book by heart when he was this age, and I admit that I love to listen to it now and again. ‘Wish I was a photographer back when he was little, though. Thanks for sharing and giving us a smile! πŸ™‚

  • April Cochran-SmithJuly 21, 2010 - 9:30 am

  • CassieJuly 21, 2010 - 11:20 am

I’m so excited for Miles to be a big brother!! I’m with him, I’m still feeling girl-vibes πŸ™‚ I can understand how he has that book memorized; I already have Dr.Seuss’ ABCs & Mr. Brown Can Moo down pat πŸ™‚ Love you!! One more week!!

  • KelliJuly 21, 2010 - 11:39 am

When my kids were younger, we had that same book on video. It was very similar, just still shots while some old guy read the book. Miles’ version is 100 times better.

  • Tira JJuly 21, 2010 - 11:48 am

Oh Miles & Betsy, you just made my day! What an amazing gift. One more week until we meet the little……sweet baby. Still thinking it’s a girl, just like Miles does. xoxo

  • SarahJuly 21, 2010 - 12:31 pm

  • AngelaJuly 22, 2010 - 1:02 am

Um WOW! Are you kidding me with that smart and VERY articulate kid you have there? That can’t be an easy book to memorize so I believe he’s reading it. I just have to tell you that it’s precious that you are savoring your time with just you & Miles. You’re a great mama (and a beautiful prego one at that) and I so look forward to seeing your new baby soon! God bless!

  • AraceliJuly 22, 2010 - 7:14 pm

Betsy, I agree with Angela…I also believe he’s reading. He pauses at just the right moment, makes me wonder if his eyes are following the words? He’s so darn adorable!

  • Amanda NicoleJuly 22, 2010 - 9:33 pm

  • Kristin G.July 22, 2010 - 11:46 pm

Miles has always had the voice of an angel. These posts are always my favorite. I’ll never forget how many times I watched the Johnny Appleseed one. He’s pure heaven. Thanks for sharing, Bets.

miles’ dog days of summer

After my last post of complaining how rotten I felt last night I got lots of comments, emails and phone calls with people checking in on me, wondering if I had gone into labor. I guess I need to inform, or remind some of you that may not already know that I’m pretty much a…

38 weeks

Ok guys, this has to be a fast one because I’m supposed to be in bed. (I was in bed, but I couldn’t stand not working on things, so I got up a few hours ago. Man, I’m so bad!) I just wanted to hop on and say, man, oh, man, things are changing around…

you take my breath away…sooo excited…no baby til 8/2

  • Seems to me your belly has really changed in the last couple of weeks, definitely lower! Amazing! I remember those last couple of weeks though, hang in there, you’ll be amazed how fast the time went when you think back on it in a few weeks, lol!

  • RhondaJuly 15, 2010 - 10:46 am

You sound so close! Going from one to two is a shock but honestly once the little one is here you’ll feel like you’ve been a mom of two forever. It’s just kinds all comes full circle the minute you meet “it.”

  • JackieJuly 15, 2010 - 11:00 am

You are so adorable Bets! The transition from one to two isn’t bad at all. It actually comes natually once your new little one joins your family. Miles will be a wonderful big brother and helper to you. I wish you a very peaceful and easy delivery! Love ya girlie!

  • Tonya MarieJuly 15, 2010 - 11:04 am

I think that has to be the cutest baby belly I’ve ever seen! Good luck with all of your changes. Enjoy every minute.

  • KelliJuly 15, 2010 - 11:21 am

I just realized you are probably going to look darn good 3 weeks after the baby is born. Like you never had a baby, and here I am still with my baby fat 14 yrs. after the fact. Ug. Every time I check the blog lately, I’m thinking I’ll see a brand new baby. Are you having someone photograph the birth? I’ve seen that’s something people are doing now.

  • Tira JJuly 15, 2010 - 12:17 pm

You are gorgeous Betsy! Walk up and down some stairs once the labor starts if you really want labor to move along. It’s not an old wives tale. Relish in these last moments as a family of three, and I think Miles is going to be one amazing big brother. xoxo

  • susan k.July 15, 2010 - 3:43 pm

Totally off-topic here, but I still LOVE your writing style, Betsy! (P.S.-Good luck with the little one)…

  • bobbiJuly 16, 2010 - 8:11 am

I just don’t understand how you can be SO cute and be SO pregnant!!!! You and Jess Strickland both… I don’t think you gained a single pound anywhere but that adorable belly! OHHHH how I can’t wait to meet him. Yes, I’m going out on a limb here… but yes yes yes… I think Miles is going to have a brother πŸ˜€ YAHOOOOOSKI!!!!

dog birthdays: great excuse to throw a party

Ok, so I’ve already mentioned people thinking we are nuts because of how much we love our pugs. Well, include my entire family in on that because everybody in my family LOVES the pugs. BIG TIME. So much so, that it’s completely normal that when July 13th rolls around, nobody flinches when they get invited… Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

Betsy – I am in love with how much you love your dogs. I feel completely the same way about my 2 doggies even though I may have veered my affection more towards my 10month old lately. Although both my dogs still snuggle with my under the covers every night.. so they are just fine haha. Thanks for loving your doggies soo much! They deserve it!

  • Olivia FeyJuly 14, 2010 - 9:47 am

Terribly cute. It just reminds me of how much I want a dog. I don’t think us people with cats could pull this off- especially at the bakery:)

  • Betsy JoJuly 14, 2010 - 10:06 am

Too cute! I’m so honored that I share a birthday with your pugs! πŸ™‚ ‘Always enjoy your blog- and I’m thinking of you as you reach the home-stretch with the pregnancy. All the best!

Happy Birthday, Whisper & Stamp!! p.s., that’s a good looking cake you got there, Betsy! If there is any left over and you have a spare tupperware container lying around I could probably take it off your hands. You know…. if it was taking up too much room in the fridge or you need to make space for King 2.0 (not in the fridge). Just sayin’, I’m available for cake surplus disposal…

  • KelliJuly 14, 2010 - 6:54 pm

That’s the best dog party ever! That cake is gorgeous! It’s better then the cake I get for my birthday, a DQ ice cream cake with a picture of my dogs on it. Cheesy. I don’t even like ice cream cakes that much, I’d prefer carrot but no one else really does. Typical mom. Anyway, I love that you love your dogs like little fur kids, we do too.

  • mary o.July 14, 2010 - 9:10 pm

betsy, i work for halls’ tavern at coventry so i am going to give you a cyber pat on the back for choosing the halls’ bakery. SO DELICIOUS! this was such a cute idea and it made me realize how much i’m going to miss my dog while at college next year. hope all is going well!!

  • JackieJuly 15, 2010 - 11:04 am

Happy Birthday to Whisper and Stamp! Throwing a dog party is not nutty at all (at least we don’t think so either). Any excuse to bring family together is a good excuse. Besides, those babies are part of the family, just in a slightly different manner. I remember when you first got them, what a true blessing they have been in your life!

  • bobbiJuly 16, 2010 - 8:09 am

Now… it’s no secret that I’m not really a dog person. HOWEVER… your Whisper and Stamp turn my doggy black heart red. I adore your dogs. BIG TIME! And, I love love LOVE that you had a birthday party for them. How absolutely fun for Miles. I love that you’re always thinking of new adventures and exciting things for Miles. You and John are such amazing parents. πŸ™‚ Miss you both. HUGELY! LOVE!!!!!
