my baby shower

Last month I was very blessed to have a beautiful and intimate baby shower thrown for me. After years of hearing people around me talk about how second babies don’t get baby showers, I never dreamed I would have one. But my sweet friends Erin and Sara were thoughtful enough to honor King Baby 2.0…

It’s Saturday night at 12:52 AM. I really need to be resting this body. However, my mind is going a mile a minute and I’m thinking of all the things I would love to blog, photos I would love to gather into albums and of course, projects I want to get done this week. I…

omg…how cute is your branding? not to mention that little boy! geesh….if they made cupcakes in miles-flavor, i’d probably weigh 800lbs. just saying.

  • NickJuly 11, 2010 - 2:23 pm

Adorable as always Betsy, and your lighting setup is simply perfect. Love it!!

  • KelliJuly 12, 2010 - 11:57 am

Love it! He needs a pug costume!

look what showed up at our studio door

I realize that I blog about our pugs a lot. Pug owners are usually pretty nutty and obsessed about their dogs and I suppose I just might fit a bit of that profile. (Though I swear, I do not own a pug T-Shirt, though my late husband did and wore his proudly and very well.)…

this has to be one of the cutest little things ever (aside from the forthcoming baby, of course πŸ™‚ ) good luck in your last month of pregnancy, betsy!

  • AngelaJuly 10, 2010 - 1:36 am

Sooo cute! I am so excited to see your first photos of your little one because I know that baby will be so cute and you will do such a great job capturing that precious image. I babysit for a great family weekly for their “date night” and LOVE it. Getting to snuggle a 1 month old baby girl is the best but it was hard to not have as much 1 on 1 with her older 2 yr old brother. She has the teeniest tiniest pinkie fingernail I’ve ever seen! I need to get a photo of it!

baby pool awesomeness

My mom picked up this baby pool for Miles and man, she was so mad to see how much smaller it was in real life. (They photoshop the people in the covers of those pool boxes to make the pools appear larger than they are.) I told her that to Miles, the pool was the…

These are just the best ever!!!yesterday with Miles was a riot…When the mall music got grandma to dance a little. Miles said ” this is not a dancing place..only walk..and ride the escalator.” later when I tried the two step again… Miles said..” Don’t you remember what I told you?? no dancing!!! What a fun time..I get butterflys , when you invite me to hang out with you….love ya so much…

  • KelliJuly 6, 2010 - 11:07 am

Stamp is so cute! Does she get in the pool? When we had a smaller pool, we would let our older dog in, she’s small enough to lift in and out. (filtered and chemicals) And she loved it. She’s swim a few circles and then get out. Now we have a Golden too, and he’s just a fur covered brick so we don’t let him near the bigger pool. The dogs have a cheap plastic baby pool of their own.

  • karla macraeJuly 6, 2010 - 10:18 pm

What fun! It’s the little stuff that counts. You can tell Miles LOVES the pool and so does Stamp!

remembering andy

As of early this morning, it has been 7 years since I lost my first husband Andy to cancer. I really hate that after all the amazing, beautiful and happy times we shared, that it’s the date of his death that always stops me in my tracks and forces me to remember. Over the past… Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

Thank you for sharing about Andy, and for continuing to love him….thank you to John for being incredibly awesome and loving you both. I have some of the same low points in my year because of my mom….this is a good reminder to remember all of the beauty in her life, especially during those times. You rock…wish I could hug you from FL!

  • LisanneJuly 4, 2010 - 6:20 pm

What a fun beautiful person Andy was…And oh how he loved the 4th of July. One of my favorite memories, was getting him that brick of popper snapper things at Sam’s club. Boy he really raised a barrel of fun and frustration for his co-workers…Silly guy…He still puts a smile on my face…Penny and Andy– what a pair in Heaven!!! precious memories abound.

  • JohnJuly 5, 2010 - 10:47 am

Bets, thank you for being exactly who you are. I love you so much! Although I only got to meet Andy a couple times, every day I am thankful for all the many gifts and joys that are in my world because of his life.

  • ChrisJuly 5, 2010 - 1:36 pm

I am thinking of you and the family sweetheart – this post reminds me of how much you’ve grown and matured through the years since Andy’s passing. I am in truly in awe of your strength and wisdom, and I tend to forget the hardships you’ve had to endure in life. It must make the good times shine with all the love and people you’ve gained over the years. While I didn’t get to know him as much as I would have liked, I vividly remember the occasions I got to meet Andy. I’m happy to know you can remember him today with more smiles than tears. Love – Chris

You are so brave to have taken pictures. My mom’s cousin has stage 4 cancer, she is the zesty person I know. She’s also very shy when the camera comes out but I did catch a few shots of her last summer. I know we will cherish these later.

  • BarbJuly 5, 2010 - 8:05 pm

Somehow, Betsy, it’s always easier when this is shared. I’m so glad that we always manage to share some of the day on the 4th. This year was perhaps one of the better ones. We have all been blessed by having John in our lives. Thanks for sharing him too!

  • natashaJuly 5, 2010 - 9:23 pm

  • RhondaJuly 6, 2010 - 11:12 am

Wow! What wonderful memories you have of Andy. Thank you for sharing this with us. Sharing those memories will make it easier. I lost my high school sweetheart and a child by the time I was 23 yrs old so I can totally relate how dates, sadness, and memories can all hit you at once. Focusing on the better days and your happy times now will only help you grow stronger to get past those bad moments you have suffered.

    Take Care

So glad you found more pictures of him πŸ™‚ funny story I remember when he came to visit us, he was soo impressed that I drove a standard car, and I asked if he wanted to learn. He was said, “really!?” (like he was in the candy shop). We were by my parents business and I taught him how to get out of first..we make it into the parking lot, he pulls into the parking space and was like… “Oh My God!!! I can’t believe that I did that, I was so nervous!!! I gotta go take a shit!!” and ran out of the car and into the building- Too funny…. many more GREAT and fun memories. That lucky dog, in the PERFECT place now-

  • johannaJuly 8, 2010 - 9:49 am

It was so great to spend a bit of time with you last weekend and to finally meet John and Miles. Thank you for sharing these memories of Andy.

  • MelissaJuly 16, 2010 - 3:08 pm

It’s amazing how grief and memories sneak up on us.. even years and years later. It’s also amazing how we first remember the bad before we can get to the good. I relive my mom’s last days before I can ever get to relive the fun times. thank you for sharing.
