jason & karen’s family

While visiting from Norway, the beautiful Bayne family came to my studio for their family photos. Their children speak Norwegian, but they do know some English, which is so amazing. Bless their souls, their kids did such a great job hanging in there with me during the shoot. Even though there was a bit of…

You turn studio portraiture on its head – I’ve never seen studio work be as fun and natural as what you do. It’s so good ๐Ÿ™‚

figuring out curls

Itโ€™s no secret that Iโ€™m not a fan of my curly hair. However, as I watch my children become little mirrors of me roaming this world Iโ€™m trying my best to be kinder to myself and learn to embrace my physical attributes. After all, my little blondie may grow to have my wild, crazy hair…

I Love it all I so wish for curly hair. My daughter has sweet lil baby ringlets and I refuse to cut them even a bit. My husband is worried we will have a situation like the movie tangled by the time she is 18!!

I saw these pics of your hair when you posted it on twitter, and I’m a HUGE fan! I have crazy curly hair too, so I’m excited to try this now ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m a fan of your normal curly hair but of course I’m a stick straight haired person (that sounds weird!) … I’m embracing my natural hair and have decided not to try and defy gravity and flip it up anymore and going for assymetrical bob. You’re last do looks a little Bride of Frankenstein and your facial expression cracks me up! ๐Ÿ™‚ Have you seen the blog of Lisa Leonard? I love her curls, too. http://www.lisaleonardonline.com/blog/family/david/what-i-wore-wednesday-51 P.S. good for you in trying to watch how you talk about your hair in front of the kiddos, too. Blessings.

I have short hair, this will never work for me but I’ve shared it with my friends and they said it worked. Might be worth a try.

I am trying to embrace my curls too. Some days I love them…other days “grrrr” I wish I was straight. This works some times for me: twist pieces of damp hair around finger. It wraps your curls into the same direction. Add product. When dry, wrap any funky pieces of hair around a small barrel curling iron (on outside). I hold my curling iron upside down and wrap from the root down and leave off the end of the iron. Separate curls a little.

P.S. I always love the pictures of you with curly hair

Wednesday afternoon

Typical scene: Miles in his imaginary world and Jocelyn is fascinated by it. (Notice sheโ€™s sitting in big brotherโ€™s chair.) Look at her little gentle hand on Milesโ€™ arm. Oh these punkins make me melt. One last snap of my kids before summer ends and preschool, Kindermusic and my work sweeps us away into busy… Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

This makes me cry.. We are so blessed with these lovely children. GOD is GOOD!

Aw, they are too adorable! My 50mm broke during a wedding last weekend ::sigh:: but it’s forced me to use my 35mm more this week and I love it! But I still miss my 50… time to send her in I suppose.

  • GailSeptember 1, 2011 - 8:52 am

Oh those precious pumpkins! And I hear you on the 50–I think I should give my 1.4 a whirl just for comparison’s sake. So tired of the focusing issues with the 1.2! (what’s the problem with yours, BTW?)

  • KelliSeptember 1, 2011 - 11:01 am

After reading a zillion reviews, I ended up getting the 1.4 because I’d heard for the money it was a better lens. I’m happy with it, but since getting the 24-70, I hardly ever use it.

  • KristenSeptember 1, 2011 - 2:57 pm

Are you kidding me with the last pic?!?! She’s gorgeous! Even though we’ve never met, she’s such an equal mixture of you and John as far as looks go. So absolutely adorable!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Miles is of course a cutie, too! ๐Ÿ˜‰
