close, but no cigar.

As a photographer you will sometime hear people say, “Man, I wish I had your camera so I could take photos like yours.” Well, today, I can assure you, it’s not the camera!

I was rolling around on the floor having a tickle/giggle-fest with Jocelyn and was having a total blast. I wanted to try to capture a bit of it but my video camera was out of batteries. So I thought I would try to get some quick shots with my timer on my camera. Jocelyn moves so fast that I could barely set up the camera before I could grab her again and this was all I got.

What a bummer! This shot would have been so adorable! Her face is so cheery and happy, it reminds me of Miles’ smiley face when he was her age. (No, I didn’t realize a fluorescent orange jack was lying in the foreground.) Maybe I need to schedule a photo shoot for us sometime soon.

Just thought I would share. It was making me laugh so hard as I was trying to get the photos because she kept trying to crawl toward the camera. So regardless of getting the photo I wanted, we had so much fun trying.

PS She stood all by herself today for half of a second. This girl is on a mission!

I’ve always loved that expression. 🙂 Thanks for inspiring me to try the self-timer more. I’ve been reading about that whole “embrace the camera” challenge out there and I really do want to challenge myself in that way. I love this photo, even if it’s not what you had in mind.

I’m with Gail! TOTALY looks like Miles… probably because the most distinct part of both of them is their eyes… and their eyes are TOTALLY different… but the rest of them… the part that’s fuzzy… THAT’S JUST THE SAME! 😀 I actually LOVE that it’s out of focus 🙂 Frame it.

We found our crawler on the tank of the toilet one day trying to reach a shelf above. She was a mover, but now at 14 she’s not. I like the picture the way it is!

I love this! It doesn’t look like an accident at all!
