21 weeks pregnant…

with a baby boy!

Ok, I’m a little cheesy, but you have no idea how much fun we had playing with the blocks and her little baby belly. I actually teared up at one point because it was just so sweet spelling out things like LOVE on her belly. It’s just such a precious time and I’m so excited for them.

We couldn’t get enough of the belly.

Then I remembered to make sure to take pics of mommy and daddy to-be too!

I LOVE how completely content Holli looks here. See why I got teared up? They are so beautiful.

Matt is HILARIOUS. His humor comes out of no where and just hits you unexpectedly. Holli is probably going to kill me for saying this, but Matt said their baby’s first words will probably be, “That’s what she said.” because of Daddy’s humor. I guess you had to be there, but it cracked us up! (Mom and Aunt Joan, I’ll explain what that joke means later…)

Matt and Holli’s nursery isn’t quite ready yet, so Erin’s worked just fine for a different setting. Can I just say again that I LOVED doing this split session? Erin was sitting in the chair right next to Holli feeding Preston and Miles was somewhere behind me playing with daddy. Good times.

We got out the measuring tape to document where she was at 21 weeks. The funny thing is, she really seemed to pop rightttt after this shoot. So she definitely isn’t this measurement anymore and it’s only been a few weeks. We’ll have to do this shot again in the spring and see the big change!

Of course since Miles was along, I had to include him in this post. (I know how to keep the Grandma’s happy!) John thinks Miles looks like a little “devil child” here because of the lighting. What can I say Miles, it wasn’t your shoot, so we weren’t so concered with you being lit well. : ) This is so Miles right now. Cruising around on everything he can, trying to find anything he can pull of a table to investigate. Am I the only one who wants to pinch his cheeks?

It’s really exciting to have so many other friends with baby boys either the same age as Miles, younger like Preston or on the way like Matt and Holli. The only bummer is Miles is the oldest of this little group so that means he’s like King Kong around younger babies and I have to hover like crazy to make sure Miles doesn’t take an eye out or plant a kiss that resembles more of a bite on these little guys. (Please God don’t let Miles be a biter. Please God don’t let Miles be a biter. Please God don’t let Miles be a biter.) Sorry, when I pray for things I have to say them 3 times. It’s my weird OCD thing.

Ok, now that I let you into my internal “crazy” I’ll wrap this blog up by bring it back around to Matt & Holli.

John and I are so excited for you Matt & Holli. There is already so much love for that little baby, I could just feel it when I was around you two. Forget about the bottles and baby swings, you already have everything you need for that little baby. Enjoy this precious time and we can’t wait to do another shoot this spring and of course get our lenses aimed at that BABY!!

Also, another huge thanks goes out to Holli & Matt for their patience and compassion as I worked on this project during a difficult time. Just as with Erin’s photos, processing these precious photos through my time of grief helped me to focus on the sweetness of life and to also have hope for what still lies ahead. Having these shoots to work on during this time was such a gift. Thank you so much! Hopefully I’ll have some more sweet babies and bellies to work with soon!
