My first senior of the season is Lauren and HOLY SMOKES, she is GORGEOUS! I absolutely dig her style and she has this spark about her that is contagious. I’m not surprised how energetic Lauren is. She plays softball and cheered for years. I think this photo shows what I mean about her energy. She just looks so vibrant in this photo, like she could just hop up from sitting and do a back handspring or something. I’m having a hard time explaining it, but I just love how you can see her joyful spirit in her smile and eyes here.
This one is for Lauren’s mom. I always think of the moms when I see a great laughing smile photo. As a mom, you love the serious photos of your kids that show their amazing eyes, the pretty little smiles and action shots, but when you see that smile that shows your child totally and completely joyful, it’s got your heart.
Lauren has so many different looks. She goes from happy and bubbly one minute to just a little shift in her expression and BAM, her eyes open up and are HUGE and gorgeous!
Lauren’s favorite musician in Michael Jackson, so of course we had some playing through her shoot. Even I, despite my baby belly, couldn’t help getting down a bit. I have to say, this photo pretty much blows my mind. She is WORKING the light, her hair is perfectly framing her face, she has an amazing smile on her face. You go girl!
When I see this photo I think, “Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!” I’m kind of jealous of this photo. I wish I had a photo like this of myself. By the way, I’m always telling people to layer textures for their photo shoots. Lauren ACED preparing her wardrobe. She had a knitted vest, that tank with the rose detail, jeans and leather boots. PERFECT. She had all those textures going on without it looking heavy or overbearing. Way to go Lauren!
Lauren, you were a blast to photograph. So much so that had I not had a studio assistant to keep me on schedule, I would have just kept shooting and shooting! I hope you love your senior photos and feel totally beautiful. (Because you are!) Best of luck with the rest of your senior year and all the exciting and fun things that brings. Also, on a random side note, can I just say that one of my favorite things about spring is when the seniors I photograph post their prom photos on facebook. So Lauren, after this shoot I KNOW you can work the camera so I expect to see LOTS of dress photos online! (That goes for the rest of my 2010 seniors too!)
Hope you enjoy your highlight slideshow! It has music written by my husband, John.
