Just wanted to add that I’m thrilled Clay Aiken has finally come out about himself. I wanted to make sure my blog post didn’t seem hateful. Anytime a person is true to themselves and who they are, I’m thrilled!

  • AbbySeptember 29, 2008 - 8:26 pm

Yea for Amy and John!! That is WONDERFUL news!!! There can never be enough happily married couples in the world… and I’m sure they will be one for the ages!! Thanks for sharing the news!!

  • CandiceSeptember 29, 2008 - 10:24 pm

  • CandiceSeptember 29, 2008 - 10:23 pm

Awwww! Lovin’ the puppy tee as well! 🙂 Has there ever been a bad pic taken of Miles? I doubt it!

it’s here!

The Ikea 2009 catalog is here! Oh man, I need a rainy saturday, Miles down for a nap, some blackberry sage tea and I’m GOOD TO GO with some one on one time with this baby. I know, I know, I’m the last of my friends that hasn’t outgrown Ikea yet. Not sure I ever…

your late night habits are as bad as mine. cool for me though, since I see your posts before I go to bed – being on the west coast =)

    love the hat on miles.

  • AprilSeptember 26, 2008 - 7:19 am

Oh Betsy, have I told you I LOVE reading your blog?! It’s a blog I visit daily. btw, the hat on Miles is ADORABLE!!

  • Captured by JessSeptember 26, 2008 - 11:18 am

What? We’re supposed to outgrow IKEA?!? This is news to me, I was just there yesterday buying all sorts of new baby props! Where else can you get rockin’ baskets for $6, lambies for $20 and funky textile prints for $7 a yard? I am a sucker for their “food court” too. I left my oldest two in the playplace for the first time… it was heaven! Long live IKEA! Cheap food and free child care!

  • Jessica ParkisonSeptember 26, 2008 - 11:21 am

I’m 100% with you on the ikea catalog, mine is sitting next to me right now! Miles hat is absolutely adorable! I’m going to have to get one for our little one.

  • LizSeptember 26, 2008 - 6:56 pm

I too love Ikea but wish they would allow their loyal customers to place orders online. What can we do about this dilemma?!

  • NatSeptember 27, 2008 - 7:16 pm

I have a mini van with removable seats and $250 Andy doesn’t know about. When’s the road trip and shall we do Chicago or Cincy? 🙂

  • elizabethSeptember 28, 2008 - 9:16 pm

it’s fun to see another creative FW gal 🙂 I will never outgrow IKEA…can’t get enough of it either and thanks for the heads up on the new catalog!

  • CandiceSeptember 29, 2008 - 10:21 pm

Dude! I can never get a hold of one of those- I swear it’s against my zip code, it always says they’re out for me! I am so putting in the 04 next time. 🙁 Ikea poopyheads. Enjoy your catalog though!

  • MayaOctober 1, 2008 - 11:58 am

Glad to hear you’re cranking away on stuff! I need to be getting more of that done!!! That hat rules!

Why don’t you take a picture, it will last longer.

Oh, I hope so! Behold, our clean house. Ahhhhhhhh, feels so good! (photo in the frame by who else but bbmk!) Speaking of our house, here’s our junk room, amidst our transformation into a useful room. It used to be our guest bedroom, but the bed has gone because it was a little silly to…

I totally left out the part that that shelf is so special because it’s basically made from the two most amazing men I know. What could be more special than that?

    : )

  • CassieSeptember 25, 2008 - 7:36 am

Your story about the bookshelf is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard!

And it looks so beautiful, too!! Jason and I dream of a house where all the walls are bookshelves 😉

  • bobbi+September 25, 2008 - 11:38 am

what a sweet sweet story. 🙂 something that i am sure will be passed on by generations. relax and enjoy your refreshing clean home!

  • annieSeptember 25, 2008 - 9:56 pm

The bookshelves really are a compilation of efforts of the two most amazing men in your life (minus Miles of course ;o)). John did an amazing job finishing them – Drew would be so proud of their final look. I look forward to seeing the “new” use for the room – I am sure that Miles just loves to unload those shelves – oh the possibilities!

  • CandiceSeptember 25, 2008 - 10:46 pm

Yay for a clean house! That is THE best feeling! Love the gorgeous shelves too- I’m sure Andy’s workmanship is awesome. 🙁 Of course the Miles shots are adorable… I can’t get over the color POP in some of these pics- wow! I like ’em!

  • robinSeptember 27, 2008 - 12:58 pm

i love how openly you share stories about your love for andy, and how it always circles around to shine this lovely spotlight on john and his love for you. obviously two fantastic men. but you knew that already, i know.

  • RachelSeptember 27, 2008 - 4:03 pm

Bets, As soon as I scrolled down I knew exactly what that bookshelf was. I remember visiting you guys when Andy was in the garage building it. Even as a little kid Andy was so amazingly committed to doing things perfectly and cleanly. It is so him. I love how John finished it and Miles uses it. What a precious thing that must be to you.

yessssss!

I haven’t bought it yet. Miles and I painted with watercolors today and we had so much fun I headed out and picked up some more paint supplies and totally forgot about picking up the DVD for myself. That’s the thing about being a mom, it’s not all about me anymore and I couldn’t care… Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...
