Denise’s Valentine card

Denise, of Matilda Jane Clothing, sent out THE CUTEST Valentine’s day cards this year. She used photos from our last two photo shoots (Both of the shoots just so happened to be within the same 30 days of each other which was a HUGE compliment to me.) and they are beautiful. Between a super cool…

    Hi Betsy,

I don’t know you in real life, just from the pin, but I wanted to leave a quick comment. I hope you don’t mind, I really enjoy checking out your blog. The pictures are always beautiful, even if I don’t know the subject matter. 😉 And your writing is witty and full of energy. It’s just a nice pick-me-up on the web. Thanks and happy valentines day!

Betsy’s has been writing since she was in grade school. She won young author awards several time. one story about a duck’s party, with illustrations and another about kittens. Of course, there is the beautiful 9 month story about Andrew. I just bust my buttons, about her writings. Get on her to publish some of this work. She is so talented and amazing. Isn’t she. We are broken hearted over Penny, and it really hit Betsy and brother Craig hard. of course. Penny was a speed freak, when it came to typing, organizing, doing her job at Grabill Cabinet. They could not keep her busy. She was doing 4 people’s work there, and she loved ,touching up photo’s for Bets. Penny had just agreed to help Betsy with photography. As their mother, I just must say that I have very talented kids. Mom and Dad are so very proud of them. Cheers to all of them..love you Bets..

Category: personal Our friend Sarah, who is an amazing artist, sent us the sweetest care package this week. It had some goodies for Miles and the sweetest homemade card from her all bundled up in this crazy colorful confetti. It really brightened our day. Look at all those colors! How could it not? I wanted…

    What a beautiful package…so colorful!

  • […] I actually had Miles in that outfit today with organic babylegs on. Very cute! I’ll load photos for that later. My latest thing on miles has been shorts and babylegs. More on that later. Tonight we were busy processing a recent shoot and booking flights and hotel for a wedding coming up that will be a little get away trip for us to Atlanta. I have to say, just coming back from a family trip to the Ozarks that had some completely horrendous and longgggg traveling conditions makes us not so gung ho about traveling again, but this is for our friend Sara who is the SWEETEST soul ever and it will be a really nice weekend and so awesome to see her get married. Plus, it’s a direct flight to Atlanta, so it’s a hop, skip and a jump. (I know, everyone thinks we are diva’s because we don’t drive anywhere, but we are emotionally scarred from a trip to SC where we sat in traffic for hours in a stand still on the way there with nothing but 1 country music station and a mix CD to listen to and then the ride home we were sick with a cold and we just can’t bring ourselves to drive again.) This awesome friend that is getting married is Sara, who send us that sweet gift basket and homemade t shirt for Miles from this post. […]

Randomness

So I’m a mom and even though I’m a photographer and all of my posted work is supposed to be a reflection of that, I’m still allowed to post crappy photos of my cute kid doing cute things, right? No? Well, shoot. Just allow me this one, or actually these two. (Future clients, just ignore…

Bets, Lovin’ this blog entry. Not only for Miles and his dramatic faceplant, but for the fun stuff you found at Target! Who doesn’t bow down to that store??? Now that Miles is a year-old, maybe you guys need to think about another for all this fun stuff? No? Then you’ll just have to live vicariously thru pregnant friends then 😉

Miles get the drama from his mama. (Just like his whisper “WOW!”) Love the Baby Legs at Target- I saw them RIGHT after I bought womens knee-socks on sale to make my own. (Which, of course, are still sitting in my own sock drawer waiting to be made.) And Holli got that adorable brown, yellow, red dot Dwell bedding for her nursery- it’s so stinkin’ cute!!!

  • TonyaFebruary 14, 2008 - 10:37 am

I just saw Target was carrying the Dwell line! And we have the green polka dot baby legs…total cuteness. Too bad there’s no Target in my area.

AND Target is selling Hotslings!! I was so shocked I talked out loud to myself right there in the baby aisle! I’m excited to see BabyLegs so easily accessible but at the same time I’m sad that everybody and their mama will have them now. Selfish, I know. :S

Hey, wait a minute…the only thing I post are “crappy photos of my cute kid doing cute things”….I swear everyone I know has something intelligent or thought provoking to share on their blog. Go to mine…and see what I have to share…only photos of my darling daughter. 😉 Keep ’em coming…I love hearing about Miles and everything else!!

  • Kellie H.February 14, 2008 - 8:56 pm

isn’t that how it always goes…after your babe is over that stage, here comes Target..etc. with the products so much cheaper and with no s&h charges! I do love me some target tho…I so try to not use a basket so I “won’t get much” and then my fingers have red marks on them from all the stuff I am crazily holding at the checkout line lol! oh well here’s to the consumer in me too =)

Preston’s family shoot

A couple weeks ago John and I had the pleasure of doing a shared shoot with our friends Holli and Erin. (Didn’t know you could do that did ya? Interested? Email me and I’ll give you the details on how a split session works.) They split the session between the two of them and we… Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

HOLY COW- Betsy- they are beautiful!!! I love love love the one of Preston and Kevin and will absolutely need a small print for a locket. (I think Tiffany makes those, right?) 🙂 Also, the ones of Preston’s eyes are gorgeous and the nursery shots came out GREAT! THANK YOU SO MUCH! We love you guys! p.s. John is a genius, huh???

Wow! What beautiful pictures! Every single one really captures how fun and happy this family is! I especially love the ones in the nursery! 🙂 So precious!

What a joy and proud moment, to view the great artist in you… This shoot is incredible. I am so thankful, you have this family in your life…MOM

Betsy, These images are freaking awesome! You are amazing. Some people have a good eye but you have an amazingly great eye.

A shout out to anyone who is on the fence about booking Betsy and John to to a photo shoot. Booking them now would be like buying stock in Microsoft in 1990. They are both fabulously talented but not yet famous. They are not telling me to say any of this. They are just that good.

    Great work! Rachel Henderson

Here I am!!! I just got the link. Betsy, you are amazing. Some people work hard to become great at what they do….others have a natural born talent….you are a fine example of both. Thank you so much for caring about the people I love most in the world, and catching them at the most poignant moments.

  • erinFebruary 15, 2008 - 8:41 am

Betsy- how will I ever choose?!! Once again- these are so great. I smile every time I look at them. Love!

  • erinFebruary 15, 2008 - 8:51 am

Ok, one more thing and then I promise I won’t comment on here again, I meant to add that I love Mile’s fat rolls on his legs peeking through on that last shot!

I agree, E. I want my rolls to look cute like that!
