glitzy glam gala

Friday night John and I had the Fort Wayne Museum of Art’s gala, so we got all dolled up for it. (That is SOOOOO not what I look like on a regular basis.) Photo by grandma Smith who graciously babysat for us until the late hours of the night. John snapped a quick shot of…

Betsy Betsy Betsy. Your talent is amazing. I so enjoy your work! You were without a doubt the most beautiful, and the most glamorous couples the Gala has ever seen. I’m looking for the Red Carpet.

sunday night randomness

Here’s my guy just hanging out on a lazy morning in his jammies and bed head. (Not that I really ever do Miles’ hair. I like the tousled look on guys.) Sometimes after a messy breakfast I throw some jammies on him for his morning nap. As you can see, Stamp is never far away….

I’m sorry Bets. When you emailed me that stairwell photo, I totally didn’t see the post processing texture you added on. It shows a lot better on this background than hotmail. It works beautifully and I don’t use many but this one works really well. Boy, does she have great eyes or what. They are stunning.

Beautiful pictures for a beautiful day in the cold. These are days she will NEVER forget. Keep creating more memories. xo

  • Roy (Emily's Dad)March 10, 2008 - 9:41 pm

Emily had a blast and talked about the day with a joyous voice. Bets don’t make her look too old I don’t need boy trouble already LOL.

studio stuff and other rambelings

Right around the time Miles was born we installed doors on John’s studio. (I think it was supposed to be a dining room, so no doors were installed.) We knew ahead of time that our child would be drawn to that room full of cables, knobs, and many more fascinating things to a little boy….

so a few things – first off i love the picture of you and penny -so sweet.

i want to eat miles cheeks with those headphones on because they squeeze his cheeks together in just the perfect kissing position.

have a ball tonight, take a few pics and share – grown up fun and i can’t wait to hear about the silent auction.

have a great restful day and a glamorous night!

  • erinMarch 7, 2008 - 10:18 am

LOVE those Miles pics and that one of you and Penny is precious. Can’t wait for tonight.

    xo, Erin

Penny was 6, when you were born and you were her baby doll. She was very careful not to play to rough. She always had time for you. Many hours were spent playing with Barbie dolls as you grew up. She had a wonderful childhood with her sister and brother. Oh, and the light of Ellsworth’s life, when we met in 1973. She wanted to be his, little girl, with his name. We got married and she got adopted. Our life was full circle with you arriving on April 1st, 1975..

That picture of you and your sister is beautiful! Thank God for special memories. Have a great time at the gala tonight! 🙂

I’m so sorry for your loss, but think its great that you’re remembering your sister in such special ways. I hope she’ll always be a part of your fondest memories.

    And Miles is adorable. 🙂

Great post, and great pictures of Miles. (As always!)

I can’t say that I’ve felt grief like yours, but what you said about birthdays really speaks to me. My mom always has said that the hardest thing after losing her mom to cancer was her mom’s birthday.

My dad and I share the same birthday, and as a child, it was a total nuisance to me. I wanted my own birthday, my own party and hoopla. But over the last few years, I’ve come to realize how cool it is to share it with him, and that someday sooner or later, it probably will be my own celebration. And I know, just like you said, that the first time through will be pretty rough.

For what it’s worth, that photo looks like a beautiful moment together…thank you for sharing it. And thank you for the reminder to spend some time making a few more of my own. 🙂

(Wish we were able to see you at the Gala tonight…we wanted to come so bad!)

    oops – last night. :-p

woof, and other “words”

So I always wondered why people taught kids how to say animal sounds. It’s not like it’s a huge life skill or anything. Now that I have Miles I understand that you teach them animal sounds because it’s something they can actually say before words. Well bring it on! Miles got “Baa” for the sheep… Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

Thanks for the “shout-out” to Stella…maybe she can roar, but refuses to moo. We’re still working on that one. I LOVE Miles’s little face and those lips are unreal! Keep up the great work, mom!

  • JessicaMarch 6, 2008 - 10:38 am

Betsy – I can totally relate to your post. Olivia is totally into animal sounds and she has about 10 that she says all of the time! It cracks us up! You will also be amazed by how quickly their vocabulary starts to expand. I think Olivia has a new word each day! It is so cool! 🙂
